Nationals Interested in Nady and Swisher

From Bill Ladson:
The Nationals have interest in acquiring Yankees outfielder Xavier Nady and first baseman Nick Swisher. The two clubs are currently in trade discussions, according to a baseball source.

Washington feels that Nady or Swisher could improve an offense that finished near the bottom of the National League last year. Who New York would want in return is not known.

Also, John Fey from the Cincinnati Enquirer thinks the Reds would be a good fit for both:
The Reds continue to explore trades. “We’re talking to some teams,” Jocketty said. Again, I think the Yankees with Xavier Nady and Nick Swisher are the best match. But the trades that get made are usually the ones you don’t see coming.
There's no mention in either article about the possible players coming back in a Nady or Swisher deal, but unless it's something very good, I still say hold on to both of them.

I honestly don't see a match between the Nationals and the Yankees. Unless the Yankees are willing to take a position player back, I don't know how we could get any good pitching out of them.

Maybe something like Nady/Swisher for Wily Mo Pena (take on his salary) and a prospect like Jack McGeary or Derek Norris?

The only thing the Yankees need are position prospects. If the Nats have that (I have no knowledge of their farm system), trade Nady, keep Swisher.

I don't know the Nats could offer, but the Yanks need to keep Swisher and only move Nady by himself or in a package for something that makes sense like a CF, C, SP or positional prospects.

Bring back Alberto Gonzaelz! Obviously it would need to be more than that, but I really can't understand why the Yankees traded him in the first place.

They traded him cause he was taking up a spot on the 40, and Ramiro Pena who was having a better year, wasn't. They don't need him back.

Hopefully they can move one of the two to get an OF prospect that won't need to be on the 40 man roster for another year or two. Throw in one of the abundance of pitchers and get a better prospect.

YankeePride3, can I ask why you would want to bring Wily Mo Pena back, who is worse than either Nady or Swisher, and add salary in the process?
