New Stadium Photo Update & Video Game Preview

Here's some new pictures that were posted over on Diamond Hoggers (hat tip to Mike Silva's NY Baseball Digest).

As you can see these were taken just after our last snow storm and they've put up a lot more of the dark blue wall padding.

As for the video game preview from MLB 09 The Show

I know this sounds stupid, but are the yankee's clubhouse and dugout better (bigger and more comfortable) than the opponent's? I mean it would make sense for the home team to be more comfortable. BTW, if im not mistaken this is how it works at Fenway.

The field looks like an ice rink.

I knowtist that on the video that there is a big clock right next to the yankee stadium sign in left. Are they putting a clock there letter before opening day or not putting it there at all?

Liam - I'm not sure about the status of the clock. They may be waiting till the end for that one, as sort of a "final touch". Most big construction projects always have the final "cap" on the project - some little thing that they put last. While the clock may seem like an odd choice, that could be what they are doing in this case.

I do personally think (just a guess) that the clock will be installed. I doubt they'd leave it out, as there's no other "permanent" clock on display, and I don't think they'd use the aux scoreboards to display a clock 100% of the time. Basically, you need to have a permanent, "main" clock in the stadium. The old one had it on the LF scoreboard, albeit a digital one. I don't think they'd leave that out.

Oh and the video is awesome. The Stadium looked pretty accurate to me, aside from the wall/padding colors. I love the darker blue that they chose over the lighter blue. It's just seems classier and less cheap looking.
