Thanks Greg. Hard Rock Cafe looks cool.

No problem.

It does look cool. But every time I see these pictures of clubs, lounges, and theme restaurants, it bothers me.

Why do we need all this crap in a stadium? Does anyone just sit and watch the game anymore?

Brian Danuff said...

yeah, you're right. also, what are those white bags on the right side of the infield?

Looks like sacks of dirt.

Your right Greg. Your only at a game for 3 to 4 hours.Very nice pics. Greg.

If I was a player, I would love to come to the ballpark everyday, the place just looks fantastic.

Man that big ol' screen in CF is bigger than the apartment I live in o_O

imagine seeing that in person O_O

"where can I plug in my PS3?" lol

Thanks Greg, great pics. The Hard Rock and the lounge below the stands behind home plate remind me of the Miller High Life commercial. The one where they go to the suite and take the beer away because real fans don't go to a stadium to watch a game on a TV inside, behind glass. If they charged you $8.50 for a warm beer in the stands just think what they'll charge you if they pour it in a real glass at a bar with italian marble counters.
All these amenities are nice, may do it once or twice every couple of years just to say I did it. But the reason I go to the game is to watch it live on the field. So I'll just sit in my seat in section 420B and root for my team and enjoy the game. Can't wait for the first game against the Cubs so I can see this all (flaws and all)in person. Thanks again for bringing this whole construction experience to us over the past few years and giving us a place to air our ideas. Look forward to more before April and then when the fix all the mistakes.

The screen is almost definitely bigger than your apartment, and it's bigger than many houses. 100 feet by 60 feet.

The people who frequent them help keep the payroll at $200 million.

The restaurants are open year-round anyways, right?

If I can see reflections off the glass and the tables inside the centerfield restaurant, I'm wondering how it will look to the batter trying to pick up the release point and the spin on the ball.

The clock is sooo ugly!!!. I am very disappointed :(

I have mixed feelings. I think parts of the new stadium are awesome, while another part of me thinks its overkill and over the top, very Vegas-like.

In one photo of the seats, there is metal fencing, then a random glass barrier. WTF is that about?

Greg Cohen said...

Crosetti,

I believe that's the barrier to keep the very rich people away from the regular rich people.

If you're talking about this picture:

The piece of glass is to keep people from tripping down the stairs and then falling over the fence.
