From Anthony McCarron:
On a clear, cold day, Brian Bruney stood in the outfield grass at the Yankees' minor-league complex, playing an easy game of catch with fellow reliever Jonathan Albaladejo on Thursday. Bruney looked trim and fit and when someone mentioned that to him, he replied, "I feel awesome."His weight-loss secret? Apparently cutting out all liquids other than water and an occasional juice (what's no beer?) and he's eating much better.Bruney, who figures to be an important part of the Yankee bullpen this season, lost about 16 pounds over the winter, meaning he has dropped approximately 40 pounds since the end of the 2007 season. He is now 219 pounds - the first time he has been under 220 since his junior year of high school - and eager for a potential breakout year.
...he went to a Tampa steakhouse for dinner the other night and ordered grilled grouper instead of a porterhouse. The Yanks are looking at Bruney as a potential setup guy for Mo, and I am too. It's all going to come down to whether he can consistently throw strikes or not. If he can, he has the potential to be a lights-out setup guy.

maybe they stopped using steroids after they heard the arod news.

Even though I know you're joking I'll respond anyway.
While I wouldn't put it past anyone to do roids, I don't think that's the issue right here.
haha yeah man im just playing. im gla, especially for bruney i have always liked him.
I don't think there are very many players left taking steroids of any kind at this point. The risks are too high and awareness is there.
HGH and other related designer stuff, however... that's a different story.
While I don't think the use of banned substances is the reason for Bruney's weight loss (didn't we hear the same thing about weight loss with him last spring?), I've learned by now to never guess one way or the other.
