Could A-Rod Be Suspended?

From Andrew Marchand (Hat tip to Mike Silva):
1050 ESPN New York has learned, it is possible that Alex Rodriguez could be suspended by the Commissioner's Office depending on what MLB investigators were to find out about A-Rod's relationship with shady trainer Angel Presinal.
How can MLB possibly suspend A-Rod for this?

Now you can be suspended for hanging out with "shady" characters? I guess if your name is Alex Rodriguez you can.

What about every other ballplayer who knows this guy? It was reported in the Daily News today that Presinal has worked with "Juan Gonzalez, Pedro Martinez, David Ortiz, Vladimir Guerrero, Bartolo Colon, Miguel Tejada, Adrian Beltre, Moises Alou, Jose Guillen, Ervin Santana, Ruben Sierra, Francisco Cordero, Jose Mesa and Juan Guzman, among others."

Are all of these guys going to be suspended too?

Robinson Cano worked with the guy in 2007, is he gonna be suspended as well?

This is a joke. A-Rod can't be, and won't be suspended. Expect a big year from him as usual...now the playoffs???

I hope you're right Margo.

If they did that and I ran the MLBPA, I would tell the members to refuse to report to work.

I hope this doesn't happen, he is a big part of our lineup. If he does, then Ransom may have a shot at a starting job.

what a joke. suspend him for hanging out with this guy?.. its unbelievable how much some people have against him. why are they personally going out of there way to screw him.. i hate the media and i hate Selig., bunch of faggots.

suspend him if he tests positive for steroids now, if not leave him alone and let him play the game.. most, maybe all, of us are sick of reading about steroids. if u want to rip him, rip him for playing terrible in the postseason.

i really hope arod sticks it to all of them.. he's been great to the media.. after what they have been writing about him, he should just treat them like shit( like Bonds did).. be a good teammate and be nice to the fans, and tell the media and Selig to go fuck themselves.

Selig should resign.He sucks.

Greg Cohen said...

Agreed. Selig is a bum and doesn't deserve the job he holds.

This information about a potential suspension is Selig's way of punishing the Yankees for their spending, and punishing A-Rod for making him look bad. Selig does not want the Yankees to succeed, and any distraction that he can encourage he will.

Greg Cohen said...

Anon,

The funny thing is that Selig is biting the hand that feeds him that way.

No team makes as much money for baseball as the Yankees do. Baseball wouldn't be breaking attendance records, and he wouldn't be making $18 million a year if it wasn't for the Yankees.

Someone should pie selig. I here by pledge to give $100 to anyone who pies selig in the face.

If he shows up at yankee stadium fans should pelt him with eggs.

This is the second arbitrary suspension threat from selig toward arod. When will this nonsense stop? Selig doesn't like having the most awesome franchise in baseball boosting ticket sales at every ballpark it visits? Why doesn't thisa turkey just boot the yankees out of the league... oh that's right cause then most of your crap little market teams wouldn't have any revenue.

Selig should kiss the Yankees' *** for all the revenue they bring into the game. And how can you be suspended for hanging out with a guy when your drug tests since '04 have been clean?

SELIG JUST PLANE S*CKS!

There is just no way they could suspend him without suspending a lot of other players.

Greg Cohen said...

That's true, but he's he might do it anyway. The fact that he's even thinking about it, publicly, shows how much of a weasel he truly is.

Amen to that! As I said elsewhere here, I really despise Selig, a slob whose face looks like a piece of raw liver. He's also one of those guys who always looks like he stinks.
