Kernan: Hey Alex, Tell The Truth

From Kevin Kernan:
There is nowhere to hide now, A-Rod.

No fancy public relations firm is going to get Alex Rodriguez through this. Madonna can't sing and dance and make it all go away. No one is going to take this bullet for you.

Being referred to as A-Fraud is the least of your problems now. Only the truth will set Rodriguez free.

Rodriguez should go to his nearest Boys & Girls Clubs of America and hold a press conference. He should stand up before everyone and admit the truth. If the truth is that he failed a steroids test that was administered in 2003 when he was with Texas, as Sports Illustrated reported yesterday, he must apologize. He can't stonewall or ignore the accusation.

If he has evidence to the contrary, if there are chain of custody concerns, he should come out and say that. What if Sample 154 somehow became Sample 138?

Those close to Rodriguez expect him to fight back.

One insider said other big names will come from the Gang of 104, who reportedly failed the test. Rodriguez was in the Bahamas, according to friends. He needs to address the situation immediately. His legacy is in ruins.

Kernan is right, don't try to fight this. We've seen it before, trying to fight the truth, as Roger Clemens did, will only make things worse. On the other hand, Andy Pettitte came out, admitted he messed up, and pretty much all was forgotten.

A-Rod is a much bigger star than Pettitte, so this will still be a major issue, not only this year, but any time he comes close to any milestone throughout the rest of his career. It will always be about steroids. But if he wants to save whatever dignity he has left he's going to have to tell the truth.

If the response he gave yesterday is any indication of what we should expect from him, he's screwed: "I'm not saying anything," and "You'll have to talk to the union," are not going to cut it.

Well, people liked Andy before this.. With A Rod, it will not be forgotten. The fall out has started.. and it will last through out the year and for the rest of his career..

Any MVP after this.. will serve as more questions on whether or not he did it without some kind of help.

The media.. who wants A Rod to bow in-front of them.. and say "sorry, I did it." All know he will never be forgiven. A Rod is damned if he does, and damned if he don't.

This difference between A Rod and Roger, is there is no butt boy trainer trying hurt A Rod.

I am sure A Rod took good care of his people if they did shoot him up. A Rod for his team sake, needs to own whatever it was.. all the way.. saying, yeah... I got caught up in the roids culture too, but I have been clean and that's it. and won MVP's after that.

And if he didn't do it.. I mean really didn't. He needs to fight it. Then he needs to SUE MLB for allowing this to get out there when it was never supposed to be. Hope he gets a billion dollars.

What the poster above said is true, Pettitte was liked or even loved before the HGH stuff. Yankees fans wanted to forgive him. There are many Yankees fans who hated A-Rod before any of this happened.
