Sabathia Leaves With The Flu

According to Bryan Hoch, CC Sabathia missed his scheduled live batting practice session today because he came down with the flu.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Sabathia wanted to throw the session but vomited and was permitted to leave camp. Sabathia told Girardi that his children were sick and that he had probably picked up the virus from home.

He is scheduled to throw batting practice on Saturday instead. He was replaced in the field rotation by non-roster invitee George Kontos.
Well that sucks.

Feel better big fella.

What's up with Peter Abraham's comments making it sound like it was more than just a flu, or that something fishy was going on?

"CC Sabathia will not pitch today. Dave Eiland said he wasn’t feeling well. “Stomach thing,” he said.

No other details needed. Thanks anyway."

"CC Sabathia went home with what is charitably being described as the flu. Let’s leave it at that."

What's all THAT about? Is Pete just trying to be funny? Not sure I get it. Not sure why I'm posting it here, either, but I'd rather discuss it here than over on his blog where it would get lost in a sea of unrelated (and mostly pointless) comments.

AnonyMOOSE,

I'm not sure, but I noticed that too.

It's almost like he's implying that he was hung over or something like that.
