Sheppard on his way back?

The voice of god himself, Bob Sheppard, was on Ed Randall's show this morning on WFAN. He said he's feeling better, and that he's back at "good fighting weight" and he's "happy."

He also said that his doctor told him that once he's up to 145 lbs and has "adequate stamina" he could come back to work. Well now he's up to 145 1/2 lbs and feeling great, and he's got three months to work on his stamina, and hopes to be back by to open the new Yankee Stadium. This is great news for us Yankees fans. It just wouldn't be right to open up that new stadium without Bob Sheppard.
