Yanks Trade Wright to Brewers

The Yankees traded LHP Chase Wright to the Brewers in exchange for 23-year-old C/OF Eric Fryer.

Last season in A-ball he hit .335/.407/.506 with 10 HR, 63 RBI, 26 doubles, and 15 steals.

And in 147 career minor league games, Fryer is a .302/.376/.458 hitter, with 13 HR and 82 RBI, and he's also stolen 19 bases.

In a somewhat related story, the Brewers also signed for Yankee Ramiro Mendoza to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training.

not a bad trade, Fryer looks like he has some potential

Good trade the yankees have a surplus of pitching prospects, outside of austin jackson not too many position player prospects. His numbers look good so maybe he has some potential.

I think the more interesting fact from that link is that the Brewers signed Ramiro Mendoza

ramiro has 5 w.s rings, 4 with yanks i believe.

Could he be the yankees future catcher and have posada as a DH after this year. When the yanks dont resign Matsui.

Wright was pretty good.

I dunno about future Yankees catcher in 2010. He was only in A ball last year, and according to Milb.com will open the year in Tampa. Cervelli, Romine, and even Montero are ahead of him on the depth chart, even though it's likely at some point that Montero will be a right fielder (can't play 1st now that Teixeira is locked up for eternity).
