Canada Blanks Yanks 6-0

Between all the A-Rod news today the Yankees actually played a game today, and it was a stinker. The Yanks took on Team Canada today and got beat 6-0. Joba Chamberlain started for the Yankees and had absolutely nothing. He faced five batters without recording an out, gave up five runs on one hit, four walks, and a wild pitch. At least it's only spring training.

The bullpen, on the other hand, did quite well.

Jonathan Albaladejo two innings allowing one run on three hits and two walks.

Kei Igawa threw three scoreless innings. He gave up justo ne hit and struck out two

Brian Bruney pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts.

Christian Garcia pitched two scoreless, allowing one hit and a walk, and striking out two.

And J.B. cox threw a perfect inning with a strikeout.

The offense was only able to muster four hits on the day.

Xavier Nady and Angel Berroa went 1-for-3.

Doug Bernier went 1-for-2.

Justin Leone went 1-for-1.

Two Yankees - Nick swisher and Cody Ransom both drew two walks.

Thank you! Something not about A-Rod!

Also, even though Joba feels "great" he still did give up 5 earned runs.

I also started to see that Girardi's starting to let his starters play 4 innings now, rather than like 2.

It's spring training, he'll be fine.

Greg Cohen said...

Yea, each start he will extend them more and more.

I can't believe YES or the MLB Netowork channel won't be televising CC's debut. He'll only pitch about 3 innings, but still, they should televise it.

I'm surprised myself.

I think the reason they aren't televising it is simply because they don't make last minute changes during the spring. They set up the schedule obviously before the starting rotation is known, and I think it would probably be expensive for them to get the film crews, prodcution team, announcers, etc to do a game when they weren't scheduled to do one.

The fact we're so anxious to see his first spring outing with a month still left until the season shows just how desperate we are for baseball :D
