UPDATE, 2:22 p.m.: MLB Network contacted me. The game will be blacked out in the New York area. YES would not grant permission to lift the blackout. I’m going to contact YES to try and find out why. And,
UPDATE, 2:47 p.m.: According to MLB, YES also will not lift the blackouts of the games on March 22 and March 28. Still waiting for a YES response.Seriously, why the hell can't they just let MLB network show spring training games? What exactly will they lose? Generally I think the YES Network is great, but not this time.UPDATE, 5:05 p.m.: Here’s the latest on tonight’s TV mess. YES claims they never received a request from MLB Network to waive the blackout.
Bottom line: The game will not be on MLB Network in the New York area tonight. I’m not sure who is to blame, if anybody. But it seems pretty silly that fans are denied access to the game.
UPDATE, 5:25 p.m.: YES says they were never asked to give permission for the game to be shown. I was just told that the ultimate decision belongs to the team, the Yankees in this case. So apparently they did not grant permission.
Oh by the way, instead of airing tonight's game themselves YES will be showing the Bucky Dent game for the 1,043,477,889th time.

you should ask if they are gonna show the first game in the new stadium against the cubs and indians on the mlb network?
If I had someone to ask, I would.
I live in Connecticut so I don't hav to worry about it, right?
Did you write a random number for the Bucky Dent game or is it really that many times they showed it?
Not sure Liam. Do you have NESN?
Random.
