The Fans Have Spoken: They Believe A-Rod, and the Other 103 Should Be Released

I asked you guys two questions just after the A-Rod steroid story broke: Do you believe A-Rod when he says he only used PEDs in Texas? And should the other 103 names of players who tested positive for PEDs be released?

Here's the results of those polls:

64% of you said that yes you do believe A-Rod when he says he only cheated during his time in Texas. And 86% of you said that the other 103 names should be released.

Thanks for voting everyone.

My answers? I don't believe A-Rod when he says that, sorry I just don't believe much of what he says. And I do agree that the other 103 names should be released.

I think everything A-Rod says is either not well thought out before hand or is phony and calculated. Congratulations fellow Yankee fans, you now have made us all look like stupid Bonds apologists.

That about sums it up.

I'm with you Greg. I don't believe anything A-Rod says. If he plays well, and makes the kind of impact he should, then what we think doesn't matter either way and it won't matter.

As far as the other 103 names goes I say keep them sealed. First of all they were supposed to be anonymous. The only reason A-Rods became public is because someone leaked the information and violated both his privacy and the law. Two wrongs will not make this right. It would be no different then someone in your doctors office releasing private medical information about you to your employer for instance. In this case the public does not have a right to know. Also since retroactive punishments don't apply what is there to be gained?

I know what you're saying Brad, and you have a valid point.

I just feel that it's unfair to the rest of the league, the non-cheaters, who now are under suspicion of being one of those 103. Hopefully the whole thing blows over once the season starts.

What we think doesn't matter, you are not a big deal. And neither am I.

As for the guy who compares Yankee fans to Bonds apologists, Give me a break. Arod is not denying, and his name, reputation and career are dragged through the mud daily. The majority of fans abhor what he did, but don't want to make more of it than it is, since its obvious that PED use was rampant in baseball. And most Yankee fans are willing to move on, and accept what he said, even if its a half truth, because the media and the ridiculous "true Yankee" fans, make this into the scandal of the century. What a joke.

Anon,

What are you talking about?

Nobody is claiming to be important or anything like that. We're all Yankees fans and this is a place to share opinions. There's nothing wrong with that at all.

Greg,

I hear you on the 103 but I'm sure that even if we knew those names it won't be close to the final accounting of the steroid era. Will never know who was clean and who wasn't. I want this to go away too. I'm tired of talking about it.

It was really nice just to sit back and watch a great game last night and not have to listen to the endless discussions about PED's. I wonder how sport casters will handle the whole subject every time A-Rod and the Yanks roll into a city for a 3 game set. Will we have to hear it over and over again?

Yea it really was. To be honest, if we never spoke about steroids again I'd be a very happy man.

Yeah watching the Netherlands is like watching baseball in a timeworp, watching a team play team ball.

Anon, stop it with the indignation that this is the media and the fans fault. Yes the media targeted him because he is the biggest name and continue to because of it, but this guy was living on front street long before this with asinine public displays. The media didn't lure him into claiming he never did steroids during a 60 minutes interview, or to opt out in the middle of a world series to draw attention to himself, or to publicly appear with the woman he cheated on his wife with. He makes himself the story and it finally really bit him in the ass.
