A-Rod Has Had Hip Problem Since Last Year

From Pete Caldera:
The problem with Alex Rodriguez’s right hip was not a spring training revelation. A-Rod’s condition dates to last season, when manager Joe Girardi said “he had some minor issues” with it.

According to the manager, A-Rod had complained only of mild stiffness in the hip.

“He was doing a lot of stretching, and he worked on it this winter as well,” Girardi said. “It hasn’t kept him from doing anything – hasn’t kept him from driving the baseball. So, that’s a good sign.”

I still don't think he should play in the WBC. If there are any concerns about the injury, any at all, he should sit out. While it may not be stopping him from driving the ball now, there is always the chance he could aggravate it and make it worse.
