News & Notes: Mariano Rivera threw another bullpen session today. He said "Everything is good," and will throw another one on Saturday.

UPDATE 1:30 p.m.: The Yankees scored two runs in the top half of the first. Mark Teixeira drove in the first run with a RBI single, and Nick Swisher drove in the second with a sac-fly.

UPDATE 1:36 p.m.: CC pitched a scoreless first, he allowed two base runners, one on a error by Cody Ransom and the other, a walk to Gary Sheffield.

UPDATE 2:06 p.m.: Well that went south in the hurry. After the Yankees added two more in the top half of the 2nd the Tigers came back with five of their own against CC. In the inning he allowed three singles, a double, and a 3-run homer off the bat of Gary Sheffield. He was taken out of the game with two outs in the second. His line: 1.2 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 0 K.

UPDATE 3:50 p.m.: Sorry, was out of the house for a while. The Tigers added two more runs off of Alfredo Aceves, one in the 3rd and one in the 4th to increase their lead to 7-4.

UPDATE 4:00 p.m.: Mark Melancon pitched a scoreless 8th inning for the Yankees. He still hasn't given up a run this spring.

But the ballgame is over, Tigers win 7-4.
