News & Notes

- The MRI's for Robinson Cano and Damaso Marte took place earlier today, neither player had any structural damage, Cano has right shoulder bursitis, and Marte has left shoulder inflammation. Cano said he should be ready to play on Friday. It's not known yet when Marte will be able to pitch, but he's not expected to miss much time.

- The Yanks added two players to the roster for today's game, OF Edwar Gonzalez and INF Luis Nunez.

-On Phillies.com it says you can listen to an "exclusive webcast" of the game. Here's the link. And as always you can follow the game on MLB.com's live boxscore.

- I'm not going to be around for much of the day, so I won't be posting any in-game updates. If anyone would like to take over that duty be my guest. If not, enjoy the game.

Stick around and discuss the game
as it happens in the comments section.

Good news on the MRI's I guess

It is. No structural damage is a very good thing.

Yeah, but why is Cano playing instead of resting the shoulder?

Greg, apparently the Yanks are "eyeing" Bobby Crosby: http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/articles/2009/03/15/with_this_10_you_get_change/?page=5

Thats the ball-game. Yankees win 12-0.

Joba got the win. He pitched 3 innings giving up 2 hits, a walk, and struck out three.

Bruney, Albaladejo, and Robertson pitch scrolees innings.

Gardner continues with his hot spring as he went 1-3 with a triple.Swisher had a nice day going 3-4.

Ransom and Berroa had a nice day also as Ransom picked up 2 hits with a walk and Berroa went 1-3 with a double.

Yankees got a total of 20 hits in the ball game which makes me very happy.

Igawa deserves a mention.

Anon,

Deserves more than a mention. This guy is en fuego! If Pettitte hadn't been signed, lets face it, we would be talking about Igawa as the Yankees 5th starter. What a spring training!!!
