DeLea Sod Farms says its three variety blend of Kentucky bluegrass will be available at New York City-area Home Depot stores near the end of the month.
Yankees Sod and Yankees Grass Seed will come with a certificate of authenticity from Major League Baseball and a counterfeit-proof hologram declaring it to be the official grass of the New York Yankees.
A five square feet patch of diamond green will cost you $7.50.

how idiotic, people will buy anything with a logo on it.
It doesn't sound to me like it's the same sod, mostly because it says "officially licensed" and "in the form of sod or seeds". Nowhere does it say that it's FROM Yankee Stadium. Plus, five square feet for 7.50 is nowhere NEAR the price the that stadium's actual sod would sell for. That would be a collector's item that you plant in your yard. At just over $1 per square foot, this isn't Yankee Stadium sod we're talking about, it's simply the same type of grass that they use at the stadium.
This is not the sod from Old Yankee Stadium. This is the sod that they grew for the New Yankee Stadium. The Yanks have been getting their sod from DeLea since the 60's.
This is just simply the same a blend of grass that the Yanks use. Paying 7.50 for 5 square feet is absurd since you can get it for as little as about $.35 a square foot. That's $1.75 for 5 square feet. The other $5.75 must be hologram charges. LOL
