A.J. Burnett was not as sharp as he was in his first two starts, but he was good enough to improve his spring record to 3-0 as the Yanks beat Toronto 7-4. It was the Yanks seventh win in a row. In 3.1 innings Burnett allowed a run on three hits, walked three, and struck out one. He threw 61 pitches, 33 for strikes. Burnett struggled with his command at times, especially with his curve ball. He also took a line drive off his left triceps, but stayed in the game and appeared to be fine.

Brian Bruney also had issues with control tonight, he walked four in 1.1 innings, allowing two runs on two hits.

In his second outing this spring Mariano Rivera picked up where he left off the other day retiring the side in order. The greatest closer in the world needed just five pitches to get through the inning.

Edwar Ramirez threw a scoreless inning, allowing one hit and striking out a batter.

Dan Giese pitched the final two. He allowed a run on four hits and struck out two. And Steven Jackson retired the only batter he faced.

The Yankees pounded out 7 runs on 14 hits tonight. Jorge Posada led off and caught again tonight. He went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Nick Swisher had a good day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. He had to leave the game after fouling a ball off his calf, but he said he'll be fine.

Hideki Matsui went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Eduardo Nunez who is quietly having a very good spring, went 1-for-1 with a two run homer.

Ramiro Pena went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Melky Cabrera, who also went 1-for-3, picked up an RBI as well.

The Yankees sure spread things around tonight, as 13 different Yankees had at least one hit.
