Injury Updates and More Bad News

UPDATE 12:15 A.M: Cashman doesn't seem too worried about Bruney, but he said that Wang will need at least 10 days to two weeks to rehab a hip injury. According to Bryan Hoch, Wang has "weakness in the adductor muscles of both hips."

According to Joe Girardi on the postgame show Chien-Ming Wang is headed to the DL and David Robertson will take his place on the roster tomorrow. This also means that Phil Hughes will most likely start on Tuesday against the Tigers.

Cody Ransom has a quad injury and Girardi thinks he's going to be out for a while.

Brian Bruney has a "cranky elbow" and he's headed back to New York for an MRI.

Between all this crap and tonight's terrible loss, it was an all around crappy night for the Yankees.

I dont even care about the loss tonight. If we lose Bruney we are screwed.

You cant even put Joba back in the the setup role because Wang is on the DL.

This team hasn't caught a break since Piazza's ball fell into Bernie's glove in the 2000 World Series.

April 25 has always been the worst date in my life.. but I guess April 24th wants to it be a 2 day misery. i wont be suprised if tomorrow, actually later on today, burnett, jeter, posada and tex all go down. if that happens u all blame it on me, cuz the worst 2 days of my life have happened on April 25ths.. so why not make it 3?

I never understood why Stephen Jackson is up. Robertson pitched 2 shutout innings and then got sent down. Jackson should get sent down unless Girardi is using him as a long man.

No offense.... but I like what happened. Wang gets his issues worked out in the right way, while being replaced be a more than capable replacement.... and Ransom isn't on the team. The Bruney part does suck though. Unless it means Melancon... then it wouldn't be so bad.

Its amazing how snakebit we are with injuries. A-Rod, Nady, Ransom, Bruney and Wang has his problems and it is only April.

Seems like we never have our full team at one time.

Robertson got called up. Miranda then got called up while Robertson was sent down. They then brought up Jackson for Miranda the next day because Robertson needs to stay in the minors for 10 days before he can get the call up again. Unless there's and injury, then he can return immediately. The problem was having called up Miranda for a 1-day stint.

1. Wang isn't really bad news. We all knew or should of had a clue that he would be out awhile. The hip thing is probably a reason the Yankees need to give the media to explain why he's being DL. So likely nothing is actually wrong with his hips.

2. We had an idea over the past few days Hughes would be called up because of Wang. No surprise.

3. Ransom is no big lost. He stinks.
Call up Berroa fine whatever.

4. Bruney is the worry here. Hopefully he's ok. I don't want Melancon up at the expense of Bruney.
I want both guys in the pen at the same time. Along with Robertson.

Yes, the worst news here is Bruney. The problem is that if he's out for a long period of time this team is in a lot of trouble. The bullpen is bad now, take out Bruney and it's really bad.

AHhhh what a crappy night.

Am I the only person who is shocked that it took the Yankees 3 horrible starts to realize Wanger hadn't pitched for 8 months and might need more time to rebuild his arm strength?
What were they doing in the extended spring training?
Go sightseeing with A-Rod?

Is that the Mark Melancon signal I see in the sky?

Starting RF, 3B, 1 SP, reflief, all hurt, our DH can't play more then 2 days in a row. Joba has lost velocity, & our Mgr doesn't have a clue, oh & last but certainly not least, our new cathedral ($1.5B) is a HR derby w/ overpirced seats. Oh and the slow starts of 2 of the 3 big FA's we spent #241 million on.. Did I forget anything?

Yes Anon, it is. He's been called up too.
