Four Injured Yanks Heading To Tampa

From MLB.com:
A quartet of rehabbing Yankees will leave for Tampa on Sunday -- Xavier Nady, Jorge Posada, Cody Ransom and Jose Molina all are slated to travel to the team's Minor League complex.

Manager Joe Girardi said Nady (ulnar collateral ligament surgery) could possibly get into an extended spring training game sometime this week, and depending on their legs, so could Posada and Molina.
As for Brian Bruney, he said today that his tendon is still sore and he will try to play catch tomorrow and hopes to return early next week.

Where would we be without guys like Melky, Aceves, and Cervelli stepping up?

We have the timely hitting now we just need the CONSISTENT pitching. i'm not complaining though lol

True Rich. If they were getting the pitching that this staff could give them they'd be ridiculous.

Anon, that's so true. Without those guys I have no idea where this team would be.

Did you see the plays Ramon Martinez and David Wright/Luis Castillo made? My goodness.

Ransom dont need him
Posada can DH and PH
Nady can play more than Swisher because Swisher stinks.
Molina and Cervelli can share the catching duties because Posada stinks at calling a game.

If they do anything different like appease Posada then they deserve the results they get for messing with this teams chemistry.

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions yet with Cervelli. Behind the plate he is doing a great job. As far as his bat he still has to prove himself. We've seen guys like Shelly Duncan come up hot and then fail to adjust which led him to get sent back down. So far I like Cervelli but don't say replace him for posada/molina yet.

Anon, when Posada comes back he's going to start.

Only 0.5 games back. Man I'm a happy Yankee fan right now.

Well, why shouldn't I be?

Giambino hit #400 tonight. Congrats dude!

Cervelli needs to get sent down when Posada/Molina are healthy. Cervelli did a very good job but he is not needed on this team when Posada and Molina is healthy.

Next year though with Molina being a free agent I would make Cervelli the backup catcher and not bring Molina back.

I just saw that YB, good for Giambi.

Anon, I agree that Cervelli will be the backup last year. Playing everyday at Scranton also wouldn't hurt when Molina and Posada are back.

Huh?

NEXT year, I meant next year.
