News & Notes

- The Yankees have won 11 of their last 13 and nine in a row.

- In his career against the Phillies, A.J. Burnett is 5-7, with a 4.57 ERA. Last year he went 1-0, with a 2.84 ERA against them in one start. In 6.1 IP, he allowed two runs on four hits, walked three, and struck out eight.

- Brett Myers has made one career start against the Yanks, and is 1-0, with a 2.70 ERA. In 6.2 innings he allowed two runs on six hits, walked six and struck out eleven. That game was on June 19, 2006 in Philly.

- With a record of 123-87, the Yankees have the best record of any team in interleague play, which began back in 1997. (Thanks Crossfire.)

- I'll be at the game tonight, but I'll try to respond to comments throughout the night from my phone. Enjoy the game and go Yankees!

why is matsui still batting 5th, he brings nothing to the order, absolutely no protection for AROD, he's never lived up the hype coming here from japan, thank god this is his last season. Cano or Swisher should be batting 5th...

I think we've found our '09 off season bust. Should have signed Lowe.

oh man realtiy hitting hard, even my man aj who i thought would carry the team in down streaks.

Well, every winning streak has its ends. But I'm not saying we can't come back though.

Also, Boston is still loosing, so it doesn't really hurt us that much if we do indeed loose.

What a terrible way to have our winning streak ended, by having our asses handed to us. At least lost a tough one.

JETER HR!!! YEAH BABY!!!

Brian Danuff said...

TEIX HR!!! WHAT A BOMB!! HOLY CRAP THEY HAVE A CHANCE!!

This is Cashman's great move...by bringing Wang up? Wang sucks and can't go 1 inning without giving up any runs. Worse than Wang is Cashman's horrible decisions as a GM. I dont care if they won 9 straight, you are still an idiot Cashman.

2 inning and 2 runs. Wow, you are soooooo good Wang. Ditto for the Yankees FO, and pitching coaches. Obviously, Wang is NOT ready. But, Im sure everyone knew that except for the ones in charge.

Emmanuel said...

Yeah those runs do loom large now for the Phils and it was a pretty stupid decision to let him come out the pen instead of letting pitch in SWB but at least we can see he's making progress because he hasn't allowed 100 H, 60 Runs

Brian Danuff said...

Man if they come back...come on guys! LET'S GO YANKEES!!

Brian Danuff said...

Keep that winning streak alive!

Also, Boston is loosing 5-3 right now. I hit a grand slam in my game tonight. So if the Yankees come back. this'll be one of the greatest days of my life.

Brian Danuff said...

Guess that greatest day won't come tonight.

Today was a home run derby....7 home runs in the game

The only good news is that we screwed the mets.

Cant win every game. Just a bad pitched game by AJ Burnett. Time to start a new winning streak tommorow.

Its becoming a pleasure to watch Mark Teixeira field his position everyday. He made two great plays today. It would of been 4-0 in the first inning if it wasn't for Teix.

Anybody that thinks 1st base is not an important position are sadly mistaken. Teixeira is the best all around yankee 1st baseman since Mattingly.

Ya gotta give Tino a mention Anon.

You can all suck my dick..fuck you and fuck the yankees. Philadelphia Phillies !!
