News & Notes

- In six career starts against the Phillies, Andy Pettitte is 2-2, with a 3.38 ERA. The last time he faced them was in 2006 as a member of the Astros. In one game against the Phils that year he allowed two runs (one earned) in 6.1 innings, walked two and struck out four, while getting a no decision in a 5-3 Astros win.

- Today will be J.A. Happ's first start this season. In 12 relief appearances he's 2-0, with a 2.49 ERA. As a starter, Happ is 1-1, with a 3.58 ERA in five career starts.

- I know it's a day late but Jonathan Albaladejo was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to make room for Chien-Ming Wang on the roster.

the engieers, the architects, & some team execs heads need to roll,Lonn Trost, Randy Levine, this place doesn't deserve to bare the name "YANKEE STADIUM".. total fucking joke... you keep saying, we don't have enough games to judge, but every game, another handful of HR's, tons of runs period, I guess $1.5 billion doesn't buy what it used too...

Mario said...

ok, i can't spell, ENGINEERS...
I don't know whats worse, players today cheating, ballparks smaller, bats better, pitching mound is lower, talent diluted, balls are tighter, could you imagine if BABE, MICKEY, GEHRIG were still alive today, holy shit, the numbers,

once again walks bite pettitte in the ass

we're stuck with this park for the season...so we just got to roll with it...once the season is done hopefully they do something about it...

Amazing Happ is mostly throwing a 90 mph fastball and our lineup cant do any damage. This yankee lineup makes average pitches look like cy young.

lol...yeah...typical...

There it goes...see ya!

Imagine what Josh Hamilton would do if the homerun derby was held at this place.

Brian Danuff said...

Oh...soooooooooooooooo close. That was almost a solo shot for Damon.

Brian Danuff said...

4-2. We still have a chance guys.

CLOSE THE VENTS

THIS UMPIRE IS FUCKING RIDICULOUS

Anonymous said...

even the mets can beat this team WTF !!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

That was Hideki's pitch

Anonymous said...

That's because the Yankees aren't good. Dont let the 9 game streak fool you.

Why did Girardi PH for Pena with Matsui and not PH for Swisher, who is terrible?

Nick Swisher another one of Brian Cashman gems as a GM!

Anonymous said...

That's right, 2 overpaid bums, Jeter and Matsui. Good going Cashman your decision making is right up there with the American people's choice for politicians and presidents!

How many pinch hits does Gardner have this year? He seems to be getting on a base a lot in those situations.

AROD! : HOME RUN OR BUST!!!

THAAAAAAAAAA YANKEES WIN! 17th come-from-behind win this year. Out of 25 that make a lot!

Go Bombers, Go A-Rod.

Anyone notice the stadium sounds and looks better on fox than yes? The stadium looks more majestic with fox's camera crews and sounds louder. Games on yes sound like a golf game.

JC said...

Great game! And the Stadium was rockin' today. And it seems much more on the full side this past homestand compared to the early games of the season.

(I guess Dumbass Anon has nothing to say now....)

Anonymous said...

I agree Danny, the microphones on YES have to be replaced or something.

Anonymous said...

Great job by the pitching staff. See if the bullpen just keeps the game close more times than not the offense will wake up and win the game.

Anonymous said...

I'm loving these walkoff wins the yankees need to establish a homefield advantage at the new stadium. And make other teams realize it will be a difficult place to win a game like the old stadium.

Anonymous said...

Also I agree with the stadium this last homestand has been much fuller and much more energy. It started with the twins game when Gardner hit the inside the park homer the crowd was electric after that play.

Anonymous said...

i disagree about the mics...on fox it sounds like no one is there, but on yes i feel like there are lots of fans in the stands. on the replay of the ibanez shot it sounded like fox edited out the massive boos audible on the original shot.

buck drives me insane.

Big enough man to admit I am wrong. Can you do the same? I doubt it.

They came back and won, it was a great game. They're making a habit of it but I still have huge doubts about this team and especially the imbeciles that run it.

Hey people, was in the central park playing softball today and caught the end of the game at a bar. What a great win. Pettitte, didn't give the Yankees what they needed but the offense picked him up and once again they found a way to win.

crossfire said...

Great game. I was at a family picnic and couldn't watch it but kept trying to catch the score.

This Yankee team is good. Very good in fact. And since there aren't any great teams in the league, that makes them dangerous.

They have the heart of a Champion. This team always thinks it can win and not many teams are like that.

GO YANKS!!!

Greg Cohen said...

At this point things are looking very good, Crossfire.

By the way, did any of you just see what happened in the Mets game? Omir Santos just hit a two out, two-run homer of Papelbon in the ninth to give the mets a 3-2 lead. They now have Putz on the mound to close out the game.

Emmanuel said...

Just saw that, eat a dick Papelbitch

Mario said...

just saw the HIGHLIGHTS of the mets/sox game, did anyone see papelbitch come out of the dugout in the bottom of the ninth, like a freak, he needs peter gammons to cry on his shoulder, fucking loser, pretty sad, sox swept us and yet we're tied with em in the standings, only a matter of time....

crossfire said...

Papelbum made an ass out of himself by running out of the dugout. But then again, he was an ass before then.

Mario, I saw that. At least Keith Hernandez told him to "sit down" and Darling agreed.

Speaking of Gammons, I'm sure he will have no problems with Papelbon acting like a baby.
