Boston lost today. We need to win here.

Hey people... Sorry for the late lineups. Was in Central Park playing softball. I think I pulled a quad muscle. Must be taking after the Yankees.

Thanks for posting the lineups while I was out, Yankeefan91.

Yes anon, a win today would be great.

crossfire said...

Sorry Greg, we may have to DFA you.

Seriously hope you feel better.

A Yankee win here would be very nice.

Redding put a hurtin' on that cooler during the recap just now

Greg Cohen said...

lol I'll be fine. It's probably just sore, but it hurts like a bitch right now.

I think the best injury I ever witnessed on the spot was in my last year of hs, Taylor our 2nd baseman slid into 3rd, and way to fuckin' late, hit the bag so hard he kinda popped up and nailed the 3rd baseman who was on his knee getting the throw, knocked 3 of the kids teeth out with his shoulder. Totally sick.

Been there with the leg injuries, they're a bitch.

I made a sick Tino Martinez-like play at 1st today. With 1 out, I dove to my right and snared a line drive and doubled off the runner at 1st. I felt so good. We lost though 11-9.

always hurts when you score that amount of runs too. we got spanked 18-12 once, we had no idea what was going on.

Brian Danuff said...

If CC gets out of the inning, I think all in all he had a pretty good start.

daneptizl said...

My slides were funny as hell... all sort of flopping/tumbling...

Everyone thought I didn't know how to slide, but it was really just because I could never decide whether I wanted/had to slide or not.

daneptizl said...

I'd give the bullpen the 8th/9th.

Anonymous said...

yeah dane, sliding was not fun for me either. always a hesitation

Greg Cohen said...

CC did fine, he kinda lost it a bit after the no-hitter was gone, but overall it was more than enough for the Yanks tonight.

Greg Cohen said...

That image of Robin Ventura's foot facing backwards always made me hate sliding feet first.

Anonymous said...

Tex couldnt buy a hit like that a month ago

Brian Danuff said...

I know! When I was 10, in my little league you were not allowed to silde head first. I hated that, sliding feet first always makes me think that it would be my last moment with my ankles.

It's much better for me to slide head first, just because I'm a pitcher and I don't want to risk the chances of ending my season on a simple slide.

Greg Cohen said...

I know, he's really on a roll. Nice to see them add a few tac on runs.

Greg Cohen said...

You're a pitcher, YB?

Never buy into the whole 5 innings 100 pitches nonsense.

daneptizl said...

lmao... Veras at it again... at least I can laugh at it now, rather than get upset.

Anonymous said...

jose veras is a piece of shit.

Greg Cohen said...

It's amazing how bad he is, but you're right, it's good to be up six. Makes this easier.

Oh great, loses a breaking ball and puts another runner on.

This team came back from a 10-4 ninth inning deficit already this year, so they can't let Veas do too much more damage.

Anonymous said...

veras is really horrible.

Brian Danuff said...

Yeah. I play first base normally, but some times I'm middle relief and have started a couple games this year.

Greg Cohen said...

I said it the other day, I'm really starting to feel sorry for him.

Anonymous said...

i do hope the yankees can acquire street or sherril

Greg Cohen said...

Tex does it again.

The guy is unbelievable.

Brian Danuff said...

I'm more comfortable at first base though. I love playing there, and I'm pretty good.

Brian Danuff said...

Nice Teix! Now just please get the other 2 outs Veras, jeez!

Anonymous said...

its called a strike jose, are you familar with this concept...

Greg Cohen said...

Cool, I played first too when I was younger. Mostly because Mattingly was always my favorite player, and I'm a lefty.

Joe has to get Veras out of this game and stop messing around.

Brian Danuff said...

S***! Get him outta here!! Release him, DFA him, get him off this team!

Not trying to be mean, but he really sucks.

Brian Danuff said...

No, Anon I don't think he does.

Anonymous said...

FUCK YOU VERAS!

Brian Danuff said...

Just being curious, does anybody know ayone with the last name Danuff?

Greg Cohen said...

Nah.

Brian Danuff said...

Oh. It's my last name, so. I met some of my relatives when we went to Florida.

Brian Danuff said...

BALLGAME OVER! YANKEES WIN! THAAAAAAA YANKEES WIN!

Greg Cohen said...

Nice... 1.5 up. Awesome.

Anonymous said...

vagtastic.

Capone said...

Nice win. Other than Veras, this team is clicking on all cylinders right now

Anonymous said...

maybe we can have veras be a personal assistant to mariano or something because he's clearly no good at pitching

crossfire said...

La Fregona strikes again. Can Veras ever have an inning that doesn't make Yankee fans want to kick him in the balls? When you have a 7 run lead in the ninth and you have to get up another pitcher, it's absurd.

Anyway, it was a nice game by the yanks. CC definitely wasn't the same after the first hit. I think that his hand was hurting a bit after it was hit. But he still battled.

Matsui had 3 hits tonight but he ran like an old lady. His knees are a friggin' mess.

The Yanks are really playing great ball and getting Bruney and Nady back will make them even better.
