For those wondering where
Damaso Marte, according to
Pete Abe, he was just placed on the DL with a sore shoulder. Marte said it had been bothering him for a week, and that he injured himself while in Boston.
Anthony Claggett has been called up to replace Marte.
I'd say this was bad news, but Marte stinks so who the hell cares.

Marte was one of the losers this offseason, should have let him go, the lefty specialist is overrated when you cant get leftys out.

Very true. At the time I wasn't against the signing at all. I thought the Yankees just misused him last season. But at this point it sure looks like a terrible mistake.
But this is kinda bad. Clagget was the one who came in after Wang in the 22-4 loss and gave up 8 runs. Unless he's gotten better or worked on his mechanics, he should not be used that much, or in a close game.
How far along is JB Cox? We need ARMS!
at least in a close game, my bad.
I like Marte i new there was Something wrong with him he usually very affected and i new he wasn't 100% after he came from the classic with that shoulder injury.I think when he comes back he will be the old Marte.
J.B. Cox has a 5.84 ERA in 12.1 innings pitched. He's allowed 10 runs (8 earned) on 20 hits, walked four and struck out six. Opponents are hitting .357 against him. So I don't think he's an option.
They picked Claggett because he's on the 40-man roster. Other than that, I don't see any good reason to bring him up.
Well, when you're knocked around the yard as much as he is you're bound to develop a sore shoulder if not exhaustion too. Can't we just release this guy?
They just signed him to a three-year deal, so that won't happen. We seem to be stuck with the guy.
Greg, couldnt the Yankees ask him to accept a minor league assignment and release him if he says no?
I think if they release him they have to pay him whatever is left of the contract.
