Here are four photos showing the removal of the seats at the old stadium. They were taken by WCBS 880's Tom Kaminski from Chopper 880. You can see more here. (Hat-tip to Ross over at New Stadium Insider.)

seeing these pics...it finally hit me, the cathedral is gone...
it's only going to get worse as it is taken down piece by piece
my best friend came back to brooklyn a few days ago, and he said ridin' on the deegan, the new stadium looks beautiful, and the old one is just bland........ seeing these pics for sure now i know that the stadium will be no more. the only thing i wonder is if the structure will still be standing in july when i come back home to brooklyn.............
this is truly depressing to the core
I saw my first ever Yankee game from the upper deck, but spent most of my time after that in the bleachers, sad to this great monument to the greatest team in sports coming down.
Nice job Greg
Thanks Rad, and yes guys this is depressing. I hate seeing it, but I had a lot of requests for old stadium destruction pics so I gotta post them.
No worries Greg, I didn't mond you posting the pics its just sad that it's happening. I think if they would have kept the old park up as "Monument Park" itself and charged people for tours and events and stuff it would have been great. Although paying rent on two stadiums doesn't seem cost-effective it would have been great for fans. Nobody blames you brother, you just report the news, you don't create it lol
Damn it hurts to see the Stadium coming down. I have heard that demolition is to begin in June.
I don't think I can look at photos like this; I might cry.
My first Yankee game was David Wells perfect game. I sat right behind that foul pole in right field i can still see 2 of the 4 seats we had.
Wow... what a great first game. There is a big age difference in my two sons. I took my oldest son to his first game there. My 2 yr old son was in the Stadium but not for a game. His first game will be this year in the new Stadium.
It's already hit me that the Stadium is no longer going to have games but when the wrecking ball hits it, it's really going to hit me hard.
