Wang Pleased With Side Session

From the NY Post:

Chien-Ming Wang threw 50 pitches in a bullpen session at the Stadium before the Yankees faced the Orioles and said he received a thumbs up from pitching coach Dave Eiland for the manner in which his sinker was biting.

"I feel good -- everything is down," Wang said.

That was a change from his minor league rehab start Sunday at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, where Wang threw seven scoreless innings but raised concerns because his sinker wasn't sharp.

The article goes on to say that the Yankees will likely wait until after Phil Hughes' start tomorrow night. Unless Hughes has a really bad start I think Wang will get one more start in the minors before coming back. The Yankees are clearly not happy with the velocity they saw from him in his previous two rehab starts, and probably want to see if they can get his speed up a bit before he has to face a major league lineup.
