6/13 Minor League Report

We are lucky enough to have a SWB report from BigGuy tonight.
He won't be doing these all the time by when he does I will

(Triple-A) Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (37-25) beat Gwinnett (34-29) 7-6: Box Score - Recap

PITCHING: Casey Fossum got the start and it was his worst of the year. After getting a strikeout to start the 1st, he gave up 3 runs on 2 hits, 2 walks, and a sac fly to give the Braves a 3-0 lead. Gwinnett picked up an unearned run in the 2nd on an error by Juan Miranda at 1st, a double, and RBI sac fly by Casey Kotchman, to give the Braves a 4-0 lead. Fossum started off the 4th with a double and single before being relieved. Fossum's line: 3.0 IP, 6 runs (5 earned), 5 hits, 3 K--2 BB, ERA 2.86

BULLPEN: Romulo Sanchez relieved Fossum in the 4th with no outs and 2 men on. He threw a wild pitch that scored a run. A RBI groundout scored the 2nd run to give Gwinnett a 6-3 lead after 4 innings. Both runs charged to Fossum. Sanchez threw a scoreless 5th, but gave up a walk and single. He got the win (1-0).

Zach Kroenke came on to pitch a perfect 6th. He tossed a scoreless 7th, allowing a single. Kroenke got 2 quick outs in the 8th and was relieved by Melancon. 2.2 IP, 0 runs, 1 hit, 1 K-0 walks, ERA 0.98.

Mark Melancon got the final out of the 8th on a groundout. He threw a perfect 9th with 2 strikeouts to pick up his 3rd save. 1.1 IP, 0 runs, 0 hits, 2 K--0 BB, ERA 2.73.

OFFENSE: The Yanksees down 4-0 in the 4th came up with 3 runs. Shelley Duncan walked, Juan Miranda singled, Justin Leone had a RBI double. Eric Duncan and Kevin Cash got rbi's on groundouts to make it 4-3. Trailing 6-3 in the 5th, SWB picked up 4 runs on a 2-run single by Miranda and error, and rbi single by Cody Ransom to take a 7-6 lead. That was all the scoring in the rest of the game by either team.
