(Triple-A) Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (40-25) beat Toledo (28-37) 7-3: Box Score - Recap

PITCHING: Kei Igawa got the start for SWB, and picked up his 6th win against 1 loss. Toledo broke out to a 1-0 lead in the 2nd on a solo homer. Igawa shutout Toledo until the 7th when he loaded the bases after 1 out on 2 singles and a walk. He was relieved by Melancon. Igawa's line: 6.1 IP, 2 runs, 6 hits, 8 K--3 walks, 97 pitches--67 strikes, 4 groundout--7 flyouts.

BULLPEN: Mark Melancon relieved Igawa with the bases loaded and 1 out. He got a groundout but a run scored, charged to Igawa. He struck out the next batter to end the inning. SWB held a 7-2 lead. Melancon gave up an unearned run to make it 7-3 in the 8th on 2 singles and an error. He tossed a perfect 9th with 2 flyouts to center and a groundout to 3rd. 2.2 IP, 1 unearned run, 2 hits, 2 K's---0 BB, 37 pitches--24 strikes.

OFFENSE: The Yankees took a 3-1 lead in the 4th. Cody Ransom reached on an error. Juan Miranda singled, John Rodriguez blasted a 3-run homer (12). The Yanks scored 4 runs in the 5th. Kevin Russo, Austin Jackson and Ransom singled. Russo was thrown out at the plate. Shelley Duncan walked to load the bases. Miranda delivered a 2-run single. Rodriguez and Justin Leone followed with RBI singles to give the Yanks a 7-1 lead at that point.

NOTES: John Rodriquez rejoined the team after missing a few games and was the hitting star. Reliever Jose Valdez was sent to Trenton.
