PITCHING: Sergio Mitre got the start, and the win (2-0) for the Yanks. Mitre tossed scoreless 1st and 2nd innings giving up a double. In the 3rd, he gave up 1 run on 2 singles to make the score SWB 4-1 at the time. In the 4th, 2 runs scored on 2 singles, rbi double, and rbi groundout to make the score 4-3. Mitre finished strong with perfect 5th and 6th innings, picking up his only 2 strikeouts of the game. The sinkerballer got 12 groundouts to 4 flyouts. Mitre's line: 6.0 IP, 3 runs, 6 hits, 2 K's---0 walks; Pitches 83/52 strikes.
BULLEN: Edwar Ramirez who has been pitching great lately, threw perfect 7th & 8th innings picking up 4 strikeouts. Jonathan Albaladejo, also pitching well lately, tossed a perfect 9th inning with a strikeout. He picked up his 2nd save.
OFFENSE: The Yankees broke out on top in the 1st inning. Kevin Russo doubled, Cody Ransom and Juan Miranda walked to load the bases with 2 outs. John Rodriguez got the big hit of the game when he emptied the bases with a 3-run double to give SWB a 3-0 lead. In the 2nd, Kevin Cash walked, Russo singled, Ransom got an RBI on a single to make it 4-0 in after 2 innings. That was all the scoring for the Yanks, with SWB picking up only 1 single the rest of the game by Eric Duncan in the 6th inning.
NOTES: Kevin Russo has reached base in 21 of the 22 games he played this year, 15 straight. Austin Jackson was 0-4 with 2 strikeouts and 2 groundouts.
