Not much going on tonight with the rainout, so here's some rehab updates via Erik Boland of Newsday. Brian Bruney threw a bullpen session today, he threw fastballs and change-ups and said he felt fine. Joe Girardi also said that the bullpen session went well.
"I'm not going all out, but I was letting it go pretty good," Bruney said. "Hopefully, that means [I'm close].''
Xavier Nady played in an extended spring game in Tampa, he also threw the ball from 75 feet without any pain, which is a good sign.
"I think it's a good sign," Girardi said. "We have to get him throwing a little bit more than 75 feet, but it's been encouraging news."
And Damaso Marte threw a 25-pitch bullpen session down in Tampa.
"That went well," Girardi said. "And he spun some sliders from shorter distance."

By the way, Boston is losing 5-0 to Texas in the bottom of the 6th. Yanks could gain a half game tonight.
Depends on who they domote to add Marte. I know Girardi does not like carrying an extra pitcher, but Berroa has to be DFA'd. Let Marte take the roster spot and try it out. He has more to contribute then Angel Berroa.
Nady, Bruney and Marte all require moves. Berroa will be used, Tomko probably and who else? Phil Coke perhaps.
I think Robertson should go back down before Coke. But to be honest, the guy who shouldn't be on the roster is Jose Veras. He's been awful all year and barely gets in a game that matters anymore.
Sad part is Veras gets a free pass, Girardi just loves him for some reason.

The only way I put Marte back in the bullpen is if we get rid of Jose Veras.
Coke, Robertson and Tomko all are pitching better than Veras and Marte. They should not be replaced like Marte.
