Girardi Upset By Interleague Schedule

Here's an article from a few days ago from Mark Hale:

The Yankees resume interleague play this weekend against the Mets in The Bronx, then host the Nationals for three games. But after that, the Yanks play three straight series -- nine games -- in National League ballparks, as they travel to Florida, Atlanta and then Citi Field.

For Girardi, nine straight games with NL rules, and no DH, is wrong.

"I think there's something fundamentally wrong with that," Girardi said before last night's 5-3 victory over the Rays. "I don't think any American League team should ever play nine in a row in a National League city. But that's what it is. And we'll have to deal with it."

I don't think any other AL team has to deal with anything like this, and I can't remember it happening before. Seems like something that could have been easily avoidable but Major League Baseball just decided not to make the effort.

We all saw last year what happens when clumsy AL pitchers try to run the bases, hopefully the Yankees can avoid a major catastrophe this time around.

Girardi should be delighted rather than upset that the Yanks are playing nine straight games in National League ballparks considering he manages like a NL coach rather than an AL coach. These games should be ideal for his small-minded, small-ball mentality. Hope A-Rod and Tex are practicing their bunting.

Relax. Girardi's bunting has not hurt this team. Hitting with RISP has. Honestly, before these three with the Sox people felt pretty good about this team, and that shouldn't change.

Can you believe this stadium?
They are there because they feed on midges.

I feel bad for the bird, hope it's OK.

I'm surprised more people don't care about this. 9 games in a row with pitchers batting is a lot.

I'm surprised too.

Girardi should have taken into consideration that the Yankees are playing bad teams while the Red Sox are playing good teams. See:

That's a fair point, can't argue that it doesn't favor the Yanks in that aspect.
