Bad news for Wang. He's
off to see Dr. James Andrews, which is never a good sign. Its possible he may need surgery for his shoulder problems and could even miss 2010 in the worst case scenario.
Cash has to be working the phones for a pitcher right now.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Well, I can't say its unexpected
I'm really not upset. It saves us from having to run him out there this year if he ever got healthy.
These types of meetings don't usually end too well. We shall see.
Never a good sign.
Cash needs to work some magic.
Cashman magic? You mean the Xavier Nady Nick swisher type magic?
Real simple "Hello Cleveland GM what do you want for Cliff Lee? OK and we will throw in Igawa and we have a deal."

Anon,
Everyone liked the Nady deal when it went down. And as for Nick Swisher, that was a great deal for the Yanks. Marquez is doing nothing this year, I think his ERA is in the mid-9's, and Wilson Betemit was terrible.
Meanwhile Swisher has been a big part of this team, and Kanekoa Texeira, the other guy we got in the deal, is pitching very well in the minors.
Wangs contract ends this year. So if he can't pitch next year, then is Wang not going to pitch for the Yanks anymore?
Wang is still under Yankees control, he's just eligible for arbitration

I don't see what the rush is to acquire a 5th starter. Sure depth in the starting rotation is an issue but does anyone honestly think that a 5th starter will be the reason this team either makes or misses the playoffs? The Indians want either Joba or Hughes for Cliff Lee and the Yankees said no. Why even trade our top prospects (Jackson, Montero, etc.) when another starting pitcher will most likely not even see time in the playoffs anyway?
