Hal: We can win it all

Hal Steinbrenner made an appearance at the stadium yesterday at the announcement of the Notre Dame - Army game that will be played at Yankee Stadium in 2010. Obviously he was asked about the state of the Yankees and here is what he had to say via Marc Carig:
"I'm seeing some looseness this year in the players, some emotion, and that's a good thing."

"We've managed to limit the injuries. We're ahead of last year in that area."

"We're pretty happy with all areas of our team. We do believe we have a championship caliber team."

"I absolutely believe that we've got the team that can win the championship."

"The attitude of the team is what I've been really, really excited about."
He also said that the team wouldn't consider making any changes to the new stadium until they have "a full year of date." And that until then he won't be concerned about that.

Hal also said that the upcoming four-game series with the Sox "is going to be a big one." But he's confident because he feels the "the guys believe that they can beat anybody."

And as far as the upcoming trade deadline, Hal said the Yanks would "look at all possibilities.

a sweep of the sawx is what we need

i know its unacceptable that we havn't beaten the Massholes, but only 2 of 8 games were at home, its hard to win when your not in your own park, even harder when its fenway.

They had a couple of those games in fenway in the bag and just gave them right back to them. This team has progressed too much since the beginning of the season to be swept again.

I was thinking of going myself, but now my plans have changed. Yesterday I was trolling StubHub & I spotted $20-$24 grandstand tickets around sections 418-420 I think it was. A good price with a decent enough view behind HP.

It's gonna rain all night, I'd wait a day or two is I were you. If you're not bothered by the weather, go for it.
