Again, we're hearing rumors that Ian Snell could be headed to the Yankees. The latest is that the Yanks have scouts watching him pitch for the Pirates AAA team today.
Snell isn't going to be the Yankees savior but he's shut down AAA hitters, has experience in the bullpen and rotation, and has a fairly dramatic ERA/FIP split. Sort of a meh move if it does happen. I hope they can get something better than Snell before the deadline.

I'd take him. Why not, he'd do better than Mitre.
I don't mind Snell. He's not my top pick, but he'd probably be the cheapest of the options out there. But I agree with Mike, I hope they can get someone better.
NO WAY!! WE NEED A SOLID STARTER, IF NO HALLADAY, THEN NOTHING WORSE THEN A WASHBURN OR ZACK DUKE!!!!
Snell had an over 5.36 era this season in the nl central. If this is the guy who is going to replace Joba once he hits his innings limit the yanks are in trouble.
I rather have Aceves go into the rotation and have the yanks trade for another bullpen arm like Downs than Snell.
Of all the guys mentioned so far in rumors, Downs is the guy I want the Yanks to get. He's a great left-handed bullpen arm that's proven himself in the AL East. I have no idea what the asking price for him would be, but if they can get a good deal for him I'd be very happy.
