Yesterday, Baseball America released their midseason top prospect list - you can check out their free version of the list here, or their subscriber only version here - and third on the list was Yankees catching prospect Jesus Montero. He was ranked behind outfielders Jason Heyward of the Braves and Mike Stanton of the Marlins.
On their subscriber only version of the rankings, they said that "If Montero could defend behind the plate—he threw out just eight of 64 basestealers in the high Class A Florida State (12.5 percent)—he could rank first. He has impressive barrel awareness and offensive upside for his age and experience level."
Yanks outfielder Austin Jackson made Baseball America's "The Next 25" list.
