Robinson Cano's Second Half Surge

Yes, its that time of year again. Time for Robinson Cano's second half surge. His splits have been well documented but I'll repost them anyway. For his career his first half line is .287/.321/.433 while in the second half he has hit .327/.358/.527. This has been completely consistent throughout Cano's career as well. Why? We can only speculate but this year has so far been no exception to the rule. Cano had arguably the best first half numbers of his career this year with a line of .308/.341/.490. He seems to be getting ready for another torrid second half as well. Through the first few games he's hit .313/.353/.563. If Cano can repeat his huge second half surge, the Yankees are going to have another very formidable hitter in their lineup. How he does is going to be a major storyline as we head toward the stretch.

I hope so and he has been doing great in the field, like Kay said yesterday, a candidate for a gold glove. We want our hitters 5-7 to be threats in the lineup and he certainly is. .

I am a big fan of Cano and I hope he has his usual big second half. He is an excellent second baseman too.

But if I could pound one thing into his head, it would be "hustle".

His lack of it sometimes drives me nuts. He has seemed to be much better this year but has still had his moments.

I agree with Crossfire. Besides that, all Cano needs to improve on now is hitting with RISP, besides that he's had a very good year.
