Yankees.com Passes 1 Million Registered Users

From Bryan Hoch:
All Michael Evans intended to do was make sure his e-mail inbox would be updated with the latest information on his favorite Yankees. He could have never imagined making Internet history.

With Evans' subscription this month, the Yankees became the first of the 30 Major League clubs to surpass one million registered users for free newsletters and alerts -- including exclusive ticketing opportunities -- via its official Web site, Yankees.com.

An official announcement was made Tuesday by Major League Baseball Advanced Media, L.P., the interactive media and Internet company of Major League Baseball.

"We are proud to reach a milestone that is representative of the passion and commitment Yankees fans have demonstrated for generations," said Yankees COO Lonn Trost.

"Yankees fans from every corner of the globe, including fans from each of the 50 United States, have embraced the exclusive online benefits delivered to their inbox."
