Bay to miss at least "a couple days"

From Adam Kilgore:
All-Star left fielder Jason Bay aggravated his strained right hamstring last night, and the Red Sox will enter their potentially pivotal, four-game series against the New York Yankees tonight shorthanded.

Bay returned to the lineup last night after missing two games with a cramp in his hamstring. But in the eighth inning, while running out a grounder, Bay felt his hamstring tighten again and he exited the game. He said his chances of playing tonight “probably aren’t good,’’ and he indicated he could miss most of the series.

Bay “has no idea’’ how long the injury will hold him out, “but it’s definitely going to be a couple days,’’ he said. “Basically the same thing. It had calmed down, and it kicked it right back to where it was three or four days ago.’’
I'm usually not the type of person that roots for injuries, but when the guy is hitting .448/.568/.897 against the Yanks this year and they're 0-8 against Boston, I'll take whatever breaks we can get.

I'll be heading over to the Stadium in a few hours. Meeting a few buddies and hoisting a few. Really looking forward to it.

Tonight's game is huge. A must win. Besides being 0-8 vs Boston, Joba is hot and Smoltz has been terrible. Bay and Drew are out, plus we've been playing so much better than them since the All-Star break.

WIN!!!!

Yes!

So this means that there is now no reason to loose tonight.

Bay and Drew are out, Smoltz has been struggling, and our best pticher (of late) is on the hill in Joba Chamberlain.

We'll break the streak and win tonight. I know it.

GO YANKS!!
