Brett Gardner Update

According to Peter Abraham, Yankees centerfielder Brett Gardner will visit a doctor on Wednesday to see how his broken bone in his hand has healed. If he's cleared by the doctor he will start a rehab assignment in the minors "soon after". And Abraham also says that Joe Girardi believes Gardner will return quickly.
“He’ll need some at-bats, but it shouldn’t be too long,” the manager said.

BG needs to get here soon, Melky could really use a few days off.

Yanks played well without him, but he's a guy who can steal a run -- which they'll need if they make the playoffs.

They need Gardy back for many reasons, his speed is such a distraction on the base paths and its been a missing element for a few weeks. I'd love to see how many stolen bases we have with Gardy in the line up and without.

Durden, were you in the espn chat with Morgan today? bc I saw this,

Durden (NY)

Joe Morgan, love when you do the games on ESPN. I have a question for you. Is Robinson Cano going to be one of the best 2nd basemen for years to come? His defense is slick and he makes a lot of plays that he shouldn't. And his bat is not bad either..
Joe Morgan (11:26 AM)

I think Cano is going to be a star. It seems like he's finally been able to focus all the time on the field. It seems like he was making mistakes before because he wasn't focused on the field. He makes good plays in the field. And his offense is turned around. He had an off year last year, but has improved this year. I think he'll be the best second baseman in the AL for a long time.

yeah that was me, although I think you slipped in the "love when you are on espn" part, I personally can't stand the guy, but he does make some nice points from time to time, I just think he kisses the Sox asses too much.

Gardner was having a very good season a shame he went on the dl. He is a great weapon to have especially in close games.
