News & Notes

- The Yankees are 24-13 against left-handed pitching this season, which is second best in baseball behind the Angels (24-10). Derek Jeter is hitting .423 against lefties.

- The Yanks have won seven in a row, 31 of their last 40, and are 6.5 games ahead of Boston in the AL East. And at 69-42 they now have the best record in all of baseball.

- Since losing two out of three to the Nationals from June 16-18, the Yankees are 18-3 at home. Overall they're 39-17 in the Bronx which is tied for best home record in the game with the San Francisco Giants.

- Mariano Rivera has converted 32-of-33 save opportunities this season. He's converted 28 straight saves which is the longest such streak in the Majors.

- The Yankees have never lost a lead of 6 games or more.
