Rosenthal: Yanks Interested in Mulder

From Ken Rosenthal via MLB Trade Rumors:
Free agent southpaw Mark Mulder could be throwing for teams within 7-10 days. Mulder is working with Rick Peterson, his former pitching coach, in New Jersey this weekend, The pair recently corrected a "minor mechanical flaw," and Peterson told Mulder's agent Greg Clifton that he was shocked the pitcher was in such good shape.

Teams are looking at Mulder for September, with the Yankees, Brewers, Dodgers and Rangers are among the cubs that have expressed interest.
After going 16-8 with a 3.64 ERA in 2005 for the Cardinials it's one problem after another for the veteran left-hander. He made just 17 starts in '06, going 6-7 with a 7.14 ERA. And them made just six appearances in the '07 and '08 seasons combined. He has yet to get in a game this year and is obviously a huge injury risk.

Proceed with caution, Yanks.

I seriously think cashman, jeter, jorge, whoever it takes, someone should put a BUG in moose's (Mussina) ear, "hey man, we could really use you to win the series this year, come join the clubhouse "O" fun. How bad you want a ring man, this is gonna be a really good chance...

You do realize it would take Moose AT least a month to get ready. And then we don't even know how he'd perform.

I remember people were saying at Old timers game that Moose was auditioning(jokingly of course)...but I wonder if he would want to help us in september or october.

Might be a nice low risk high reward gamble. I would sign him.

I hope you guys aren't serious with Moose coming back.

I don't think there's any chances of Moose coming back.

Ok... I think there is about a zero percent chance of Moose coming back.

But wouldn't it be great just to have Suzyn Waldman make another one of her orgasmicly absurd calls? LOL

"Mike Mussina is in Hal's box and Mike Mussina is coming back! Oh my good... goodness gracious! Of all the dramatic things... of all the dramatic things I've ever seen. Mike Mussina standing right in Hal Steinbrenner's box announcing he is back!"
