Quiet night, huh?
Nobody cares about Yankees vs. Orioles?
Yea, I think Yankees fans are becoming bored with the regular season.... As for the game, Burnett looks lost again. He's starting to worry me as he continues to struggle.
Burnett plays like a cy young or plays like someone coming up from AAA.
Yea, it's extremely frustrating.
Wow, where's the Posada hater? Two homers and a walk tonight for the Yankees catcher.
FUCKING SHIT I HATE BURNETT SO MUCH.
He's such a waste of money. This guy has never been as good as people think he is.
It's hard for me to disagree. He's either injured on inconsistent. It's the story of his career.
Lets just hope he is going though a bad slump and his good streak shows up in october
I really hope that's the case.
this sucks...
I am the Posada hater. And, he hits 2 HR's but gives up 6 runs AS USUAL, and you promote this? How stupid can you be? You think this work in the playoffs? You better think again.
Its a good thing Posada can hit occassionaly because he sure can't call a game, can't throw out runners, can't play defense, can't tag anyone out at home and can't frame a pitch to save his life! He is such a horrible catcher its amazing. No wonder we haven't won in the playoffs in forever! You can NOT give up 6 ER's per game as a catcher. Its that simple. If you dont get that then you're just plain dumb (which you are anyways).
You moron, a catcher doesn't give up runs, a pitcher does. LEARN THE DAMN GAME OR STOP WATCHING!
Oh, and who was the catcher when the Yankees won three of those rings? Oh right, Posada.
arod with a clutch hit where are the haters?
Seriously Anonymous, stop coming to this blog. All you do is embarrass yourself. You sound like a dumb five year old.
hey anon, seriously i wanna know how old are you?
Anon is 11 at the oldest. If he's any older he should find a tall building and jump.
hey guys lay off him though he may have some illness-- red sox syndrome
I don't know what's wrong with him, but I'm sure there's a pill for it.
Come on Tex.... What the hell.... E3.
Eh whatever, two errors in a season i can deal with that
True, I just hope it doesn't cost them a run.
Hey don't throw all us Anons under the bus. I would have you know that this anon is a frequent chatter in the chat. I always am a celeb but still, don't blame all Anons for the action of one
Don't worry other Anon, we're only talking about the idiot.
Great job by Marte. He's been really good since he came back. Hopefully he can keep that up.
YES, SWISHER MAKES IT 8-6 WITH A 2-RUN BLAST!
Check that.... 9-6 after Hinske makes it back-to-back, and a belly-to-belly.
This team can sure take a punch, can't they?
and people were saying earlier today that the marte trade was bad
-G
That's for damn sure. This team has a ton of fight in it.
lol... Marte seems to be turning things around. A poster mentioned that Girardi was misusing him and I think that guy was right. Marte should be a loogy and face at most one righty per outing.
lol at the posada hater. How does Posada give up 6 runs? Burnett gave up 6 runs. If you watch the game you can see him have no control whatsoever. You can clearly see Posada setting up for the ball and Burnett missing the target by a mile. And no it's not because Posada is catching. That myth that pitchers can't pitch to Posada is busted. We've seen AJ dominate with Posada behind the plate. Just watch the Red Sox game or Met game. So please next time know what you are talking about before you whine like a little baby.
Marte has been nice since coming back. I think he is slowly stealing Coke's job.
Agreed, especially since Coke gives up a homer every other time out.
Is it over yet? Waiting to watch game on DVR.
Not yet, two outs in the top of the 8th.
Thank you. Long game.
Oh come on Jerry, you could have had that. Dive man, DIVE!
The thing with Coke is he needs to work on not giving up so many homeruns. The thing you like about Coke is he doesn't walk many batters. And has a very good whip of 1.13.
YES!
Ballgame over. YANKEES WIN, THAAAAAAA YANKEEEEEES WIN!
It wasn't exactly pretty but it's another win!
AJ needs to get straightened out. He completely loses focus sometimes and can't seem to battle his way through it. He even forgot to cover first.
This team just keeps on rolling. They've really been a machine since A-Rod got back.
and somewhere in his mommy's basement, Anon weeps.
I disagree about Burnett losing focus that is a tough thing to judge. You cant really get inside Burnett head. His command was off today could be a mechanically thing Burnett was getting hit since the first inning tonight.
I agree that his mechanics were off but you can tell by his demeanor that he got rattled and even completely forgot to cover first. A move that ultimately cost him a run.
All Burnett has to do his have a couple dominant performances in october. I could careless about what he does the rest of the season.
Same thing with Sabathia if he finished up with a dominant september and wins the cy young. But bombs in the postseason no one will even care about his regular season anymore.
I just want to see AJ get back on the right track. I don't think he's had a win since July. That wears on a guy. I know Girardi was really trying to get him a win tonight. It just wasn't meant to be.
By the way, if you haven't seen David Wright in the new batting helmet, you are going to die. The friggin' thing is huge. He looks like Rick Moranis as Dark Helmet in Space balls. LOL
I know they say that all players are going to wear it but you have to see how big it is. It's enormous.
"He looks like Rick Moranis as Dark Helmet in Space balls"
LOL I just saw a picture of David with it on it does look real funny. It is huge that has got to feel real weird wearing that.
I've seen the video of Jorge's 2 run blast up on mlb.com wooooooooo!! AwEsome! love him and all the yanks!!
