Sorry Greg. I tried to do the game thread, but I didn't know you were working on one already.

No problem YB.

RBI double by Hill.

Liam Gallagher said...

lol. See ya guys later.

Oh ya, I don't have any treatments anymore!

Brian Danuff said...

Cool.

Damon always makes things interesting in LF.
It looked like that ball was burried 10ft, given the time he took to glove it.

Go Bombers, go bullpen.

Brian Danuff said...

2-0. Come on Mitre, don't implode.

What horrible defense. Toronto gets a runner on 1st with a routine play and then Damon takes 4 years to field a ball. Scutaro slid at 2nd, walked to third and still scored. PATHETIC.

Those kind of plays will kill you in the playoffs. And, this is against an horrible Blue Jays team. Absolutely pathetic.

How is Mitre imploding? Idiot 3rd baseman can field a routine ball and Damon took a shower and blow dried his hair before fielding the ball and then missed the cutoff man. This team wont do shit in the playoffs. They're defense blows. It will come back to haunt them.

Greg Cohen said...

Mitre has nothing today. Get him out before the game is out of reach. This is why they called Towers up, isn't it?

Greg Cohen said...

OK, the double play works too.

Brian Danuff said...

Nice scoop Teix.

Yup get Mitre out of the game because Hairston, Damon and Jeter can't field ROUTINE ground balls.

And, please tell us how great Jeter's defense is and his range. Blah blah blah and more blah. Jeter blows at SS. No range at all. That was ANOTHER routine groudn ball and a DP if we had a REAL SS with defensive skills.

I can't wait to see this garbage in the playoffs and you guys with your mouths wide open and your head moving from side to side.

Anon... kill yourself.

Anon woke up on the wrong of the bed this morning

Brian Danuff said...

Anon, where have you been the entire season? Jeter has had the best range of his career this season.

And, garbage? So your saying the team with the best record in baseball, leading the AL east, leading the MLB in runs scored, and having a killer lineup is garbage?

I mean, I know the Red Sox lost 12-2 yesterday, but that's no reason to take it out on the Yankees.

Brian Danuff said...

E-4 Cano, come on! At least that's only his 2nd or 3rd of the year.

Brian Danuff said...

Alright gotta go, later.

Greg Cohen said...

By the way, Jeter has the 7th best UZR/150 of all shortstops in baseball this year.

Greg Cohen said...

Later YB.

Greg Cohen said...

Wow, these umps are such a joke. Davidson didn't even know what was going on... It's really great when the 3B coach has to make the call... Anyway 3-3 Yankees.

Mario said...

OK tie game, I love beating a dead horse, here's another perfect chance for Cano to bat 3rd, with AROD getting day off, drop tex to #4 & put cano @ #3....

crossfire said...

Anon woke up on the wrong side of life. Crybaby red sox fan. Go back to mommy's basement now.

3-3 Yanks!

Mario said...

anyone read the article in the post about CITI field already falling apart, love it,

Mario said...

we are determined to give this game away

Greg Cohen said...

I actually think Anon is a Mets fan. He's so irrational and stupid that he fits in well with those folks.

Greg Cohen said...

Texas is a joke. They have their chance to gain on Boston, and blow it by losing to Baltimore yesterday, and today they're already down 2-0.

crossfire said...

SWISH!!!

Greg Cohen said...

The defense has been a joke today, and thanks to it, they now trail 6-5.

Greg Cohen said...

And now Haiston makes it worse... 7-5 Jays.

Mario said...

hariston has been playing worse & worse the more he'[s played.... i'm about sick in tired of his crap already, why isn't pena getting some looks at 3rd, GIRARDI if you blow this,

M.E. said...

Unbelievable how fast we give up leads......

Greg Cohen said...

Guys, it's one game, that's not even over yet. M.E., it's not amazing how fast the Yankees give up leads in general, just today it has been. They've done fine holding leads on their way to the best record in baseball, don't you think?

And Mario, one game isn't going to blow an 8.5 game lead.

Yes, losing sucks, but these games are fairly meaningless. As long as they don't completely collapse, which they have no shown any signs of doing, they should be fine.

You want to talk about a team that's blowing it, look at the Rangers, who are about to drop a second straight to the Orioles.

The key right now is that Mitre stops the bleeding, which may be tough. He probably should have been taken out already. His defense has made him work so hard.

Its obviously because Posada can't call a good game.

Melancon looked lost out there. Pathetic performance.

Greg Cohen said...

Ouch.. Ruiz takes one in the face, in worse news the Yanks now trail 12-5. Stupid inning.

bruceb said...

Can't expect to win with Hairston and Molina in the same lineup. I don't regard any game as meaningless until we have clinched a playoff berth. No difference to beating the Rays than the Jays, except it's a bit harder. Happy with 5-2 on this road trip but need to get back to do the basics well tomorrow.

bruceb said...

...and using the proven arms from the bullpen.

Greg Cohen said...

My point is that this team has shown consistently that they can put bad games behind them. There is no reason to be concerns or bothers by one ugly game.

bruceb said...

No one was expecting Texas to hang around this long but I, for one, didn't expect them to blow it against the stinking Orioles of all teams. Important thing for the Yanks is that they stay five games ahead of the Red Sox to make the final series of the season between them pretty meaningless.

Greg Cohen said...

Even with the ugliness of today, three or four runs here puts them right back in the game.

So is Hairston going to make an error now in every game he plays in?

Kevin Russo should get Hairston spot next year on the yankees!
