I don't understand why Soscia bats Vlad 4th and Morales 6th.
Vlad has 13 homers and 43 RBIs batting .282, while Morales has smashed 30 dingers and 98 RBIs with a .307 AVG.
I used to get excited when joba pitched, i'm to the point he needs to be sent down to get his head right..
Joba has actually done pretty well so far. Only one mistake to Vlad.
Atta boy Swish! 1-1.
Yep.
Nice start by Joba.
Where is everybody?
Yea he's been surprisingly impressive.
Runners on 1st and 2nd, 1 out, and Cano coming up.
2 idiots who do nothing. Posada and Cano, oh that's right we are playing a good team.
Do you expect these guys to come through every chance they get? That's not how baseball works, kid.
Anon, anon, anon, when will you learn.
2-run triple for Teix, 3-2 Yanks!
Big hit by Tex... hopefully the pen can hold the lead.
Yeah.
Big hit by Tex. Yanks need this game for psychological purposes as much as they do for the standings
Nice play by Jeet and Tex.
not really.
Hughes looks terrible. Looks like this one might be slipping away.
But a nice DP only makes it 3-3.
Nice escape by Hughes. Girardi should've walked Kendrick though.
He gave up the lead, but it could have been a lot worse. I'm impressed that while Hughes has struggled a couple times lately, each time he didn't allow things to totally get out of hand. He looked terrible for those first three batters, then straighten himself out and made soe big pitches. (If only A.J. Burnett could do that before giving up six runs.)
Absolutely. That's what AJ needs...a bit more mental toughness under pressure. Now, can we come up with our customary big hit late?
Speed kills. Yanks lead 4-3 on Mathis' error.
Big hit for Cano, Yanks now lead 5-3, Mo up in the pen.
Well, maybe this game won't turn out as bad as we thought. I really did expect the Yankees to loose though. But I'm very happy we're winning though.
Why not give Duncan a try at 1st? He played 1st for us early last year. Just a thought.
Greg, I have some breaking news into Blogger:
Hitler's identedy has been revealed. He is Jack, Liam's classmate.
lol seriously?
Hey Greg, yes it's true. THE SEARCH IS OVER!!! Yeah wooo.
Nice win!!!
I know its just one game. But this win makes me really happy.
Same here.
When we play this nine and have reasonable starting pitching, we can beat anyone, anytime.
See ya Greg. I'm tired.
Joba was a pleasant surprise tonight. He's been a different pitcher since that little meeting on the mound with Jeter. I really want to know what Jeter told him.
Same here.
We set a all time comments record at YB place.
NIGHT!
I believe Jeter told Joba that if he didn't start pitching better, he had better start house shopping in Pittsburgh.
Now that's motivation.
Joba is a rhythm pitcher. You notice a lot of his strikeouts come in bunches during games. When he gets hot he is very tough.
Thats why it was stupid when the yankees started skipping his starts after those 3 starts after the allstar break. They messed up his rhythm. They should of started him off slow in april instead of slowing him down in september.
