Here's a video from ESPN.com of Tim Kurkjian briefly breaking down his top five New York Yankees of all-time and how Derek Jeter fits into the group of greatest Yankees(hat-tip to Zell's Pinstripe Blog):
So, do you agree with Timmy?

I think after time when Derek Jeter becomes mythologized (I doubt that's a word but I'm sure you guys know what I mean), he will be a part of the first-tier. The way baseball treats older players as immortals makes it difficult for anyone to put a current player in the light as past legends.
The only knock I have against Jeter is that those players of the past did what they did in a lot less at bats as Jeter. On the flip side I believe Jeter played against a greater talent pool of pitchers and defenders than the past greats. It will be a topic argued for years to come but if your name is included in the argument it means you've done some great things.
No way is A-Rod higher, that's just ridiculous. But anyway, Jeter is not in the Top 5. Any other team in the league? Probably. Not this one though, but he's definitely top 10. I would have the Mick above Yogi but that's the only change I'd make.

as far as doing it in less at-bats, most of those guys walked a whole lot more than Jeter did.
Walking with a bigger strike zone doesn't discredit less at bats
I agree with him about Jeter and that's no offense to Jete.
My top 5 Yanks of all time would be:
1) Ruth
2) Gehrig
3) DiMaggio
4) Mantle
5) Berra
Tough to crack that list.
Mantle below Berra? That is ridiculous.
Mantle >>>> Willie Mays
1. Babe Ruth
2. Lou Gehrig
3. Mickey Mantle
4. Joe Dimaggio
5. Yogi Berra
6. Whitey Ford
7. Mariano Rivera
8. Derek Jeter
9. Bill Dickey
10. Ron Guidry
Yogi was better than Bench whats he talking about...
Alex Rodriguez will should be higher than Jeter on the all time list of great yankees.
Especially when A-Rod will carry the team this october.
Anon, you can't put A-Rod on that list yet. He's only been a Yankee for six seasons. Maybe when it's all said and done, but not yet.

I think Anon was being sarcastic with the A-Rod dudes. I mean, I REALLY hope he was.
