Tuesday Night Open Thread: World Series Edition

- ESPN is once again picking the Yankees. I know, I'm surprised myself, but that's three series in a row now, so maybe they just know how good the Yanks are.

- We already heard about the Yankees adding Eric Hinske to the WS roster, but the Phillies also made a move adding right-hand pitcher Brett Myers to the roster and dropped utility man Miguel Cairo.

- Just in case the Yankees need a fourth starter this series they've begun stretching out Chad Gaudin. He left today's media session early to throw a simulated game. I don't know about you, but I really hope he doesn't have to start.

- The umpires for the series will be Gerry Davis, Jeff Nelson, Brian Gorman, Mike Everitt, Dana DeMuth, and Joe West.

- First Lady Michelle Obama, along with Jill Biden will be on hand for tomorrow's World Series opener. This means that security will be very tight, so if you're going to the game make sure you arrive a little earlier than normal.

- According to an Associated Press-Knowledge Networks poll released today, most Americans are picking the Yankees to win the series and A-Rod to take home the MVP. According to the article, fans are picking the Yankees "by nearly a 2-to-1 ratio," and 32 percent of people are picking A-Rod to win the MVP.

- Three F/A-18 Hornets will fly over Yankee Stadium tomorrow night prior to the 7:57 p.m. first pitch. Flyovers are always cool.

- By the way, did anyone catch the front cover of the NY Post today:
