Source says no official offer has been made to Pettitte, but Yanks plan one more than $10 mil today. "They don't intend to low-ball him."So maybe that report about Pettitte rejected the Yanks' offer wasn't true.
.......................
After we learned earlier today that Pettitte rejected the Yankees first offer -- a one-year deal worth around $10 million -- now we find out that he has decided to return for one more year. According to ESPN a "major league source" told Buster Olney that the left-hander has decided to pitch next season.
If I'm Brian Cashman I'm hoping to leave Indianapolis with Pettitte signed. It seems that's his goal too, because according to Jon Heyman, Cashman is now in negotiations with Pettitte's agent Randy Hendricks.
