Yanks Interested In Marquis

From Bryan Hoch:
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman confirmed on Monday that he has spoken with the representatives for Mark DeRosa and Jason Marquis, and adding pitching is the main goal for the Winter Meetings.

Cashman flew to Indianapolis on the private jet of agents Sam and Seth Levinson, and Marquis' name was brought up. Cashman called the New York product "tough."
In 33 games for the Rockies in '09 the 31-year-old right-hander went 15-13 with a 4.04 ERA. In 216 innings he allowed 97 earned runs on 218 hits, walked 80, and struck out 115. I really don't see why the Yankees would want to bring this guy over to the AL. He's spent his entire career in the NL and has been nothing more than an average pitcher. Bringing him in to pitch to the big boys has disaster written all over it no matter how "tough" he is.
