Eric Byrnes was designated for assignment by the DBacks yesterday and could be an option for the Yanks. After a very good 2007 campaign where he hit .286/353/.460, with 21 HR and 83 RBI, he struggled with injuries the last two seasons leading to two very ugly offensive lines.
- 2008: .209/.272/.369, 6 HR, 23 RBI in 52 games.
- 2009: .226/.270/.393, 8 HR, 31 RBI in 84 games.
Also, as we've seen from countless highlights the guy plays 110% and it's always good to have those types of players on a team.
If he's healthy and could regain his 2007 form he's be an outstanding pickup. But those are two big ifs. What do you think?
