Braves Courting Damon?

From David O'Brien:
Braves' interest in Damon has increased; they made initial 1-yr offer (amount unknown) in recent days and had Chipper Jones contact him.
O'Brien posted this a little later on:
Braves offer to Damon is believed to be worth at least $5 million, although some of that would be deferred.
He also reported that "Damon and Boras haven't backed off from demand for two-year deal; Boras says he already has at least one 2-yr offer but won't name team."

First of all, I don't believe Boras for a second regarding that two-year deal. If any team threw a two-year package at Damon right now I have to believe he would have already jumped at it.

Second, how stupid would both Damon and Boras look if they end up going for this reported $5 million offer? He rejects two better offers from the team he played for and won a championship with last year only to sign for less money in Atlanta? LOL! Way to go, Boras.
