Hughes Throws Simulated Game, Fans 12

According to the AP, Phil Hughes struck out 12 and allowed three hits in the equivalent of 8.1 innings in simulated game down in Tampa. He faced players currently in the Yankees' extended spring training program.
Hughes was “very happy” with his control and the overall outing. He threw 70 of 100 pitches for strikes.
I know it's just a simulated game, but that's pretty impressive work. His next extended spring start will be Saturday down in Florida.
